The South American coati (Nasua nasua) is a species of predator from the small bear family (Procyonidae) [Wikipedia]. We could see them on excursions in Villahermosa, the capital of the state of Tabasco in Mexico. Their species belongs to the coati genus and the small bear family. With their long snouts, they look for food in the ground. South American coatis are primarily diurnal. The search for food takes place mainly on the ground, but they climb trees to sleep, to mate and to give birth to the young.
