The fjells Luosto and Pyhätunturi together form an approximately 35 km long mountain range in Lapland. The highest peak of Pyhätunturi is called Noitakero, other peaks are Kultakero, Ukonhattu, Laakakero, Peurakero and Soutaja. [Wikipedia]. Both areas have popular slopes for skiers and there are also trails for cross-country skiers.
We explored the area on foot and used the 2 hours of light at noon. Dusk began at 2:00 p.m. and we watched to be back from the woods in time for our bus to leave.
