Rovaniemi in Lapland - a visit to Santa Claus

Regardless of whether you prefer to avoid tourist attractions, do not believe in Santa Claus or hate shopping - when driving from Rovaniemi to the north, a stop in Santa's village on the Arctic Circle is a must. After the bus with 100 items whizzed over the icy slopes of Lapland and initiated the braking maneuver long before the destination, the time has finally come - you have arrived at the Arctic Circle and trudge full of expectations through the snow towards the festively illuminated houses. Does it exist or not. In any case, the friendly staff, dressed like elves, ensure that this shop visit is unforgettable.

We even see the Moomins again, whose stories passed the time in a wonderful way in childhood - and I still like to drink from my Hatifnattecup today :-)

We sit down with the other visitors and dutifully fill out our wish lists. Karin makes sure that they end up in the right mailbox and we try to catch a glimpse of the many letters from all over the world that arrive at the Arctic Circle for Santa Claus at the Christmas Post Fairy. It is now 10 years since we visited Santa Claus and we can no longer remember the wishes we wrote down - but they have definitely come true :-)
